R v Q – Experienced Psychiatrist Charged with Complex Fraud

The defendant an experienced psychiatrist who owned various companies providing psychiatric services across the UK was said to have fabricated reports, impersonated doctors and conducted medical examinations for years beyond his medical qualifications.  

It was said also that the defendant had provided reports for years which were copied and pasted from leading experts.  The defendant denied all offences, the prosecution obtained testimony from various professional expert witnesses questioning his assessments and his conduct with patients. This was a case that required a diligent and meticulous approach to prosecution expert reports. The matter was listed for trial, but the prosecution had extensive disclosure failings which were identified by the defence team, the case was withdrawn just before a jury trial began.
